What is Linux+ Certification?
CompTia says, Linux+ is a vendor-neutral
certification, generic across distributions, that validates the
knowledge of individuals with a minimum of six to 12 months of practical
Linux experience. Professionals holding the CompTIA Linux+ credential
can explain fundamental management of Linux systems from the command
line, demonstrate knowledge of user administration, understand file
permissions, software configurations, and management of Linux-based
clients, server systems and security. When you receive your
certification through Linux+ preparatory courses at Harford Community
College, you’ll have obtained a skill level and depth of knowledge to
successfully pass your exam and to confidently perform in a business
environment.
Why should I get certified?
It helps students get a foot in the door with either a prospective
employer or client. It lets others know your achievement level, and many
employers may use certification as either a condition for employment or
reward certifications earned with job advancement or promotions. It can
also provide a path to a variety of fulfilling and challenging Linux-related
careers, as well as provide foundational knowledge for additional
certifications.
