Poetry
by Christina Martin
A happy, fun filled, joyous person is all I want to be.
To
be cool, easy going, full of life—
This
should be me.
I
want to be able
to love and cherish
Not
to denounce or be irked.
No
longer I wish to dwell on those things that have been
Or
full of misgiving.
I
want to live, to immensely love
Not
look at people and instantaneously be judgmental;
Or
to momentarily scold and scorn when my childhood dream has not gone my way.
Or
scowl at others when a miracle has happened to them and not me.
But
to be joyous and immensely happy for them and to be easily
Decided
to wait on time for myself.
To
be collected, full of life, easy going and fun-filled
Is
all I want to be.
Why
can’t this be?
Can
someone answer for me.
Why
do you cry? Why
do you feel all you have done is in vain?
Don’t
you see in your life all you have gained?
Why
do you feel at a loss?
As
if the world holds you hostage?
Can’t
you see you hold the world—the world doesn’t hold you?
Sometimes
life doesn’t always revolve around one person.
But
everyone goes through trials and tribulations
Don’t
give up so easily.
At
times you have to go through the rough in order to get to
the good.
Why
give up now?
Life’s
little treasure is what you make of it.
If
you are miserable, then misery you shall have.
If
you are content and happy, then you are richer than a king.
Why
give up all you have waited for?
Keep
the faith and you will reap the rewards.
