The Concord Lighthouse is one of many such structures along the coast. These
are a means of warning ships along the coast of dangerous reefs and shoals. Over
the years, construction of these sites has been uniquely designed and has
become the object of collectors of replicas of various lighthouse designs.
If you review the web site,
Cheslights,
you will find the actual location of this lighthouse, the days it is open, and
times when you can tour the building. This is the oldest operating lighthouse in
the country. There are maps giving directions from various cities by outlining
the highway routes and the distances between landmarks in the area of Havre de
Grace, the location of the Concord Lighthouse. These maps can be expanded to
increase the scope of the map or contracted to show more detail.
Another portion of this Web site will acquaint you with other aspects
concerning interest in lighthouses: club memberships, societies for the
preservation of lighthouses, etc.
