Important New GED® Test Information

Starting in 2014, there will be a new GED® test*. The current version of the GED® test is expiring at the end of 2013 and your scores will expire too if you don't finish and pass the test by then.  Enroll in classes now.  For information, see http://www.gedtestingservice.com/finishtheged/.

GED Test Preparation

If you are an adult 16 years of age or older who did not complete high school, GED classes will help you to prepare to take the GED examination and earn a Maryland high school diploma. Instruction will include review and practice of those skills necessary for passing the GED exam. There is a tuition and book fee for classes. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.  Eligible for VA benefits.

Evening GED classes will be held in the Edgewood area and at Harford Community College.

Former Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED students may call 443-412-2152 to enroll in class. Adults new to the program should attend one of the advising sessions listed below to pre-register for classes.  Registration is not necessary for the advising sessions, just walk in.

GED Practice Test Session

The session includes an introduction to and administration of an official GED Practice Test.  It will include test taking strategies, essay writing and using the calculator for the GED exam. Students will receive scores and advising on the day of the session.  For more information, or to schedule a session, students should call 443-412-2115. Cost of session is $29.

With the help of supportive teachers and volunteers, you will be able to work at your own speed to meet your goals. Day and evening ABE classes meet twice a week at centers throughout Harford County; literacy tutoring is scheduled to meet individual needs.

Attend one of the free advising sessions listed below to receive help in assessing your skills and enrolling in class.  Room numbers for the advising sessions will be posted on the front door of the building.  Registration is not necessary for the advising sessions, just walk in.
