Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk

The Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, April 30th at Harford Community College.

Over 400 people are expected to turn out and participate in this ever popular event. We are once again hoping for a sunny spring morning!

Last year, over $30,000 was raised for the Adam Thompson Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Harford Community College and the Adam Thompson Memorial Education Scholarship at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health. Both scholarships support students attending Harford Community College. More than $120,000 has been raised by the event over since its inception.

Included in the days events will be a performance by the Chesapeake Bayhawks’ cheerleaders, and appearances from the Oriole bird and HCC's very own Screech kept people entertained. Participants will also able to take a close up look at several emergency vehicles.

The event honors the memory of Adam Thompson, a first-year HCC student who was killed in an automobile accident in 2011.

Adam Thompson

Adam's Story

Adam Thompson was tragically killed in an auto accident in April 2011 at age 19. Adam's parents, Roy and Pat Thompson, hope that others can realize their dream of attending college with the help of the scholarship established in their son’s name.
