This program prepares individuals to obtain certification as an Emergency Medical Technician with National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Emergency Medical Technicians must possess the basic knowledge and skills required to stabilize patients, work as part of a team under medical supervision, either with other BLS providers or with Paramedics. They respond to both critical and emergent patients. Classes focus on general emergency care, airway management, patient assessment, EMS foundations and EMS operations. Program includes American Heart Association BLS and a field internship component.
This class prepares an individual in all phases of Emergency Medical Services with the focus on general emergency care, EMS foundations, airway management, patient assessment, and medical emergencies. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Students must be 18 years of age. Text book required and available at the College Store. Transcript available.
This class builds on the Emergency Medical Technician I coursework as it prepares an individual in all phases of Emergency Medical Services care with the focus on general emergency care, patient assessment, traumatic Injuries, and handling with Special Populations EMS Operations. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Students must be 18 years of age. Text book required and available at the College Store. Transcript available.
